Stampin' Up! Paisley Prints and Tiny Tags Card

I do realize that it may be annoying that almost everything I do requires the Big Shot and I don't mean to do it, but apparently I can't help myself.  So if you've been contemplating the purchase of a Big Shot, take it from me, you won't regret it.  I can always find inspiration in an embossing folder or a die cut!  AND when you purchase your Big Shot from me, I will buy you an embossing folder and a Sizzlit Die!   Contact me for details!
I do believe that I consulted the Color Coach for this card as well.  I don't have an innate sense for combining color in unexpected combinations and I think that's what happened on this card. I love that touch of Rich Razzleberry combined with the softness of the Paisley Prints patterned paper and the Confetti white card stock.
This paper is available during the month of April as a promotion to introduce a brand new Designer Series Paper Pack, Paisley Prints, and a new stamp set, Four Frames, that will be coming out in the new catalog in July.  When you make a purchase of at least $20 you are eligible to purchase the stamp set and paper, but if you hostess a party totaling $350 or more then you can get BOTH for FREE!  How awesome is that??  I've already had one hostess earn hers and she was SOOOO excited about it.  Stampin' Up! is so generous with their hostess gifts!  It really makes this a FUN job!!  See more details on my Stampin' Up! website HERE.
Thanks for stopping by to take a look and please let me know if you have any questions about any of my projects.

Stampin' Up! Fancy Favor Strawberrry box and You're a gem card

I saw the cutest strawberry, on a card over at Mary Fish's blog, and had to make one right away.  My card is not as clean and simple as the card over there, but then I don't lean toward the clean and simple projects very often. I LOVE them, I'm just not that good at CREATING them.
The strawberry is made with the Scalloped Heart of Hearts embosslit die and looks good enough to eat! Don't you think? OK, maybe not.
The complete list of supplies is below, but here are a few pointers if you're trying to reproduce this card or box.
  • The measurements for the card pieces:   Base in Crumb Cake is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 folded in half, the Poppy Parade layer is 4 x 5 1/4, the top embossed piece of crumb cake is 3 1/2 x 4 3/4 inches.
  • The strip of Poppy Parade card stock that was punched with the Scallop Trim Border punch was 1 inch wide x 5 1/4 inches, which created the perfect double border for the 1/2 inch crochet trim.
  • The top layer of crumb cake was stamped with the strawberry image from Tart and Tangy stamp set in versamark and showed up really well until I embossed it.  I'm torn on which I should have done, but not convinced doing both was the way to go.
  • The little white flowers are the two smallest flowers from the Boho Blossoms punch, stacked and sponged on the edges with Daffodil delight.
  • The strawberry tops are punched from Garden Green with the 5-petal flower punch, glued to the top of the heart and then cut off from the back following the heart as the guide.
  • The stems and small leaves are the branches from the Two-Step Bird Extra Large punch.
  • The little rim around the top of the bag was made from the Level 1 Hostess Set In Color Designer Series Paper Pack.  1 inch x 6 inch strips were glued together to create a strip at least 13 inches and then die cut on the top edge of the Fancy Favor die and glued to the crumb cake bag before folding and gluing together.

Thanks for stopping by to take a look and if you have enjoyed this post, I would love to hear from you! Please let me know if you have any questions about these or any other projects, I'm only an e-mail away!

Stampin' Up! Elements of Style Scrapbook Page

It's been so long since I've posted on my blog, I may have forgotten how!  I was busy getting ready for a community crop and then my parents were staying with us for about 2 weeks to help build the chicken coup and then I had to get caught up on my "work" and a workshop! Whew!  I got some cardmaking done today and while my mom was here, so I'll have lots of fun posts to share with you this week.  But wouldn't you know, I've caught the crud and don't really have the energy to sit here...I feel the couch and a hot cup of tea calling me.
So here's a photo of one of the scrapbook pages I made when I was cropping and a card option.  The tag was the make and take I provided at the crop.  I think the ladies liked it.
Please, please don't hesitate to comment or email me with any questions you have about the page or the card.  I check them regularly, and love hearing from you!

The photos are of me and my husband on our honeymoon almost 6 years ago at the Hotel Del Coronado on the Coronado Island in San Diego.  Isn't that the most beautiful bougainvillea you've ever seen?  And I love the way the Elements of Style stamp set enhances these photos.
Thanks for stopping by!
