Tea, anyone? I think this stamp set is one of my favorites. I've had it for quite a while, and yet this is the first card I've made with it. What's up with that? And honestly, I wasn't trying to make a card with this set, I was trying to make a card with this eyelet lace. The eyelet lace reminded me of kitchen curtains and the kitchen curtains made me think of coffee or tea and the stacked cups made me think of paper piecing...so here you have it.

Fold a piece of 4 1/4 x 11" crumb cake card stock in half. Crease with a bone folder. Use a corner rounder to round the bottom edges of both the front and back of the card base. Take two strips of very vanilla card stock (1x 5 and 1 1/4 x 5 inches) and punch along one edge of each using the Eyelet Border Punch. Sponge some Crumb Cake Classic ink around the edges of the card base and along all edges of the eyelet punched borders. Run the strips of punched very vanilla through a paper crimper.
Attach a piece of polka dot paper from the Love Letter designer series paper pack (1 1/4 x 4 1/4") to the top edge of the card front. Layer the lace as shown and attach just under the polka dot paper. Tie a piece of cherry cobbler seam binding ribbon around the card as shown in the photo above. Stamp the stack of tea cups in black Staz On ink in the lower right hand corner of the card front.
Cut out the tea cup stack from very vanilla. Use an Exacto knive to cut out the handles on the two bottom cups. I used a blender pen and a cherry cobbler Stampin Write marker to color in the bottom and top cups as shown. Stamping Tip: Use your acrylic stamping block as a color palette. Color a little marker right on the block and pick up the color with your blender pen. It won't matter if it dries, you're blender pen or aqua pen will still pick up the color off the block.
Cut out the cups as shown in the photo above from the other cup stacks that you stamped. Glue the cut out cups on top of the very vanilla stack. Glue the paper pieced stack on top of the stamped image on the card front. (This technique is called Paper Piecing...it's fun, do it often...very rewarding)
And my final Stamping Tip for this card is to use a Sahara Sand Stampin Write marker to outline the tea cup stack and the lower edges of the eyelet lace. It's a very subtle addition, but I think adds just the right amount of dimension and attention to detail.
